A sole trader, or sole proprietorship, is a type of business structure where one individual owns and manages the affairs of the business. As a sole trader, you are the business and are responsible for all aspects of the business, including profits and debt.

Requirements:

  • Two forms of ID (National ID, DP, Passport)
  • A clear headshot holding one of the IDs
  • Working email address for account login
  • Residential and postal address (if different)
  • Electronic birth certificate with pin number
  • Supporting document for name changes (e.g., marriage certificate/deed poll)

Limited Liability Company (Profit)

In a profit-company, two (2) or more individuals (directors) own and manage its affairs. However, they are not held responsible for its debts or liabilities, since the company is its own legal entity.
